Remote Job Hunter holds a great deal of information about you, because applying for a job requires it. This page says what we hold, why, and who else sees it.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider; we never see them.
- Candidate profile — contact details, address, work history, education, certifications, skills and the narrative answers you write.
- Application eligibility answers — work authorization, sponsorship needs, age confirmation and, where you choose to provide them, voluntary EEO, veteran and disability disclosures. These are optional, are used only to answer employer questions you have asked us to answer, and are never used in our own decisions about you.
- Documents — resumes and cover letters you upload or we generate for you.
- Activity — jobs found, scores, applications, emails sent and replies received.
- Email access — if you connect Gmail, an OAuth token scoped to sending on your behalf and reading replies to those messages. We never receive your Google password, and you can revoke access at any time from your Google account or from Settings.
- Payment details — handled entirely by Stripe. We store a customer identifier and your plan status; we never see or store card numbers.
Why we hold it
To perform the service you purchased: to find jobs that match you, to complete applications in your name, to contact recruiters on your behalf, and to show you what happened. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to train third-party models.
Who it is shared with
- Employers and their application systems, when we submit an application you asked for — this is the point of the service.
- Recruiters and hiring contacts, when outreach is sent on your behalf.
- Processors we rely on: our hosting and database provider, our AI provider (for scoring and document drafting), our email provider, and Stripe for payment.
We do not share your information with anyone else.
Separation between customers
Every record is owned by your account and isolated in the database itself, not merely in the interface. No other customer can read your profile, documents, applications or contacts.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Ending a subscription does not delete your history — your applications, documents and contacts remain available so you can come back to them. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time, and we will do so except where we must keep a record for tax or legal reasons.
Your choices
- Edit or delete anything in your profile at any time.
- Leave EEO and demographic questions blank — they are never required by us.
- Disconnect Gmail without closing your account.
- Request an export or deletion of your data.
